Our last update on the call process was at the end of January. For those readers who think a new chaplain shows up in a matter of moments, let me assure you that it doesn't usually work that way. What actually happens for the most part is that a ministry will be essentially on hold for quite a while and then when the person who's the right fit turns up, things move very quickly.
We're currently waiting for someone to appear who would be a good fit for Wittenberg Door, preferably someone who is able to be bivocational or who has the ability to mobilize a fairly substantial support base. We expect to start seeing a number of seminary graduates in the next few years, as there are a good number of men in the pipeline.
Our central concern remains that of providing genuine, face to face, pastoral care to the students, faculty, staff, administrators, and families of the collegiate communities in town. Please pray that we will be able to do this faithfully. For those who are able to offer financial support, please do so, remembering that the work of ministry isn't a money making venture but that it does cost money to keep things going
