Keep working on learning where to look for different things in Matthew's Gospel. In chapter ten Jesus commissioned his apostles, spreading the work of ministry beyond himself.

Here, at the end of Jesus' second discourse, Jesus returns to activity, though it is only briefly. Most scholars consider the second discourse to go through 11:1 and the third to begin at 12:46.
Consider Jesus' words about John the Baptist. What do you find significant about Jesus' words and actions in Matthew 11:1-15? Why?
Matthew 11:16-19 considers the response of the broader society to Jesus and His people. How is this response seen today?
Verses 20-24 speak of woe toward some cities. Compare the "woe" statements to the "blessed" statements from Matthew 5.
Why would verses 25-30 be comforting to some people? Why would some people be made uncomfortable by them? Which group to you fit?
