Due to the additional work on my schedule, I'm having to reduce what I do for Wittenberg Door. One of the more time consuming projects over the years has been putting content on the Throwing Inkwells blog. I haven't thought of a way to do an accurate calculation, but my estimate is that we have over 5,000 posts up, representing comments on much of the Bible and summary information about a great many other books. There are also years worth of sermons in the recording archives.
As some of my blog posting series reach the ends of books I am summarizing, I'm going to put them on leave. For instance, today my comments about a book reached the end of that book. We'll have a break from that series of posts. I will plan on having more like two or three posts per week as opposed to five or more. This should allow me to concentrate on the very important work of campus visibility, encouraging Christians on campus, and building the body of Christ through biblical studies and prayer with others.
A few people may have noticed that I have not yet mailed out a December newsletter. We're going to cut that back to having a newsletter every two or three months, again, due to time constraints.
One of our long term goals is to be able to bring on a full-time campus chaplain. I'd love to see that happen! We'll have to see if the ministry finances allow for it. For now, we'll do what we can. I encourage people to give generously to this project of bringing real-live face-to-face pastoral care to all the students, faculty, staff, and administrators of the collegiate communities in Columbia, Missouri. We're your missionary representatives. Please spread the word about what we are doing!
