Join Wittenberg Door Campus Ministry for a study of Matthew's Gospel! We are combining face-to-face meetings and interactions on our website as we walk through Matthew. This study is at an appropriate level for people with any background or no background in New Testament studies. New posts on the Wittenberg Door Throwing Inkwells blog will introduce readings from Matthew's Gospel and from a popular commentary on Matthew, as well as questions for study and discussion. We'll also be linking more in-depth resources including an annotated Greek text and notes drawn from a variety of more academic sources on a dedicated page for the Matthew study. I hope you will be able to join in the conversation as we see how the evangelist Matthew presents Jesus as the one who fulfills Scripture and brings God's promises of mercy, forgiveness, hope, and eternal life to his people, those who believe that he is who he says he is and that he does what he says he does.
We will be using a couple of different books for our face-to-face discussions of Matthew's Gospel. You probably expected Matthew, from the New Testament. If you want to see it in different translations and editions, take a look at Bible Gateway. Here's the first chapter of Matthew in the New King James version, the English translation I prefer. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+1&version=NKJV At the top right of the screen you can use the pull down menu to browse other translations, including numerous non-English languages.
