Augsburg Confession VI, “Concerning the Office of Preaching” p. 42.
The Augsburg Confession in article six affirms that people should do good works from faith in Christ. The works do not earn grace but respond to grace (Kolb 2000, 42). Article six of the apology is included with articles four and five. The Controversy pertained to Melanchthon’s assertion that we do not earn grace by our good works.
