Schaff introduces the reader to the Jerusalem Monastery of the Most Holy Supulchre, located in Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). His introduction describes the neighborhood and evokes a recollection of the historical apperance of some of the New Testament locations (Schaff 1886, 1).
